Yamaha have been making pianos for over a century but the new b Series is something of a departure for us. A hundred years of accumulated knowledge has been condensed into our most affordable piano ever. No corners have been cut. No compromises made in materials or workmanship. We simply set out to design a fully featured Yamaha piano but at a lower price. And we succeeded.

Actions and hammers are checked and finished by our craftsmen giving them the opportunity to adjust the piano’s response for optimum performance and ensuring delivery of a warm, superior sound.

The b Series soundboard incorporates a superior “crown” design for maximum resonance and sound performance enhanced by specially selected ribs that are matched to the soundboard characteristics. A 4-ply solid maple bridge, meanwhile, ensures optimum stability of tone.
Even the tuning pins benefit from Yamaha’s total dedication to quality. Advanced precision cutting techniques are employed to maximise tuning stability and the rigorously tested, hard-wearing pin block is resistant to temperature and humidity changes.

Lacquered for enhanced high-end clarity, the B3 soundboard is designed to offer optimum tonal characteristics within a cost effective and stable structure.
Upgraded strings give improved tonal quality throughout the registers.
Hammers and felts are manufactured to a superior specification creating the ideal combination of longevity and sound quality. Consistency of the felts ensures optimum performance across the high and low registers, delivering an idel balance between warmth and brightness.
The B3 action is of a well-proven design offering a lightness and precision of touch not usually associated with instruments in its price range.
